About the Journal
The Young Journal of European Affairs (YJEA) is a junior political science journal based in Munich, where students can publish academic papers on European Union policies from the very beginning of their academic career. The articles published in the journal cover a broad variety of topics related to the European Union. Research is mainly carried out in the following policy areas:
- European Public Policy
- European Integration
- European Foreign, Security and Defence Policy
- Political Economy
- Global Governance Perspectives on the EU
The journal is edited by the co-editors-in-chief, Lilia Gwaltney (CEU) and Nadia El Ghali, M.A. (LMU). Mercedes Osuna Vergara, M.A., MSc (LSE), is the Managing Editor and is responsible for the day-to-day work of the Editorial Board. The Editorial Board also comprises Valentin Berov (HU Berlin), Amy Bland, B.A. (University of Konstanz), Lennart Eckle, B.Sc. (University of Cologne), Maximilian Förstel (University of Erfurt), Julia Gruber, B.A. (Maastricht University), Kayla Howard-Tripp (Queen’s University Belfast), Mara Nelegatti (JMU Würzburg), Paula Schäfer, M.A. (Sciences Po Paris, LSE) and Noa Schmid, B.A. (Sciences Po Paris). Patrik Nadrai, BA (Lund), Andrei Botorog, BA (GU Frankfurt), Demetri Tymchynyuk (College of William & Mary, St Andrews) and Gaute Oien Tollan, BA (Sciences Po, LSE) work as project managers at the YJEA, and Duru Yavuz (Boğaziçi University), Anna Hercher, BA (JMU Würzburg), Anna Pflügler, BA (University of Jena) and Mona Nothacker, BA (University of Hamburg/IFSH) are responsible for the organisation’s social media presence.
